Privacy Policy

Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) At 21 December 2001 the National Privacy Principles (“NPPs”) contained in Schedule 3 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) regulates the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by us. We acknowledge the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information. We affirm that we collect only that personal information which is necessary for us meet our obligations to you. We also take all possible steps to ensure that your personal information is not disclosed to or accessed by unauthorised persons.

Organisations to which we may disclose information

We collect personal information directly from you, or in some cases directly from the professional or trade association that referred you to us. In some circumstances, we may be requested to pass on information about you to particular third parties. The most likely entities to which we may provide information include:

  • State and Local Government Councils in the State of Queensland governing the laws and regulations related, but not confined to, planning, development and environmental policies and guidelines.
  • Professional consultants whom you have nominated as being part of a team to complete your contract.

Breaches of Privacy

If you are concerned that we may have breached your privacy:

Discuss it first with the relevant client manager assigned to your contract; then

If you are still dissatisfied (or feel you are unable to discuss the problem with the relevant client manager) please contact the senior director in the office located nearest to you, i.e., either Proserpine or Mackay.

Access to personal information

You may access the personal information we hold about you by making a written request. We will try to respond within fourteen (14) days but no later than a maximum of thirty (30) days.

We may decline a request for access to personal information in circumstances prescribed by the Privacy Act.

Security

Your personal information is retained by us securely and is disposed of securely. Your personal information is held in both paper and electronic format and security measures are in place to ensure all reasonable steps are being taken to ensure the continued security of that information.
